Bridger Mountain Scribes will meet in April on Tuesday, April 15 from 1:30-3:30 PM. We’ll meet in the Cottonwood Room at the library, as usual.
Because we couldn’t get enough of drumleaf binding last month, we will once again be making a drumleaf book. And this time we’ll get to the lettering as well!
Please bring:
- A pencil or colored pencils, for drawing our letters.
- Six to twelve words that relate to one another: we’ll write one word on each 8.5″ x 5.5″ book page opening. These words could be a list of nouns, adjectives, etc; words from a poem, or a six-word saying, or … you get the idea. If you can’t keep it to 6 words, try 12 (you’ll write 2 words per page). Come prepared with your words.
- Two pieces of cover paper at least 9.5″ x 6.5″. They should be grain long, i.e. bend more easily parallel to the 9.5″ sides. If you can’t figure out the grain, bring paper that is at least 9.5″ square 🙂
- Two pieces of coordinating paper for endpaper, at least 8.5″ x 5.5″ grain short, i.e. bending more easily parallel to the 5.5″ sides. Same thing here: if you can’t figure out the grain, bring paper that is at least 8.5″ square.
- Craft knife and cutting mat.
- Ruler at least 12″ long with a metal edge for cutting against.
- Bone folder (or fingernail).
- Glue stick (UHU or similar)
- A few sheets of waste paper for gluing.
- Those who attended last month may (or may not) want to cut and bring their own prepared materials.
Please RSVP to let me know who’s coming. When you RSVP, please also let me know whether you want me to provide text pages. I’ll prepare enough text pages, other materials, exemplars, and book instructions for all who respond.
